Group Therapy

Group therapy is when several people come together to participate in therapy for a shared reason and the session itself is conducted by a therapist knowledgeable in that area. Why talk with strangers? We know therapy with a group of people can seem...uncomfortable but group therapy has a lot of benefits. Group therapy is more affordable than other forms of therapy, offers a camaraderie/ validation in your experience, accountability from peers, and a shorter commitment. There are several types of groups but here at Psychcicle we offer two types: Processing Groups and  Psychoeducation Groups

Group-Therapy-Philadelphia

Processing Groups:

  • Ongoing; drop in for one or become regular!

  • Less structured than directed groups

  • Have one overarching topic but each group is unique

  • Discussion driven by the difficulties presented by the clients that attended that day

Pyschoeducation Groups:

  • Can be 1 day or a month long depending on topic

  • Structured

  • Clients are taught a specific topic then have open discussions

  • Goal is to be more knowledgeable about the topic and how to apply it to/how it impacts your life.

Reading for Growth is a therapeutic book club that combines the power of self-help books with group discussion and personal reflection. Each month, we’ll read a book focused on key themes like building self-compassion, improving relationships, and improving intimacy. In our monthly sessions, we’ll explore the material together, sharing insights, reflecting on how it connects to our lives, and discussing practical tools and strategies to apply outside of the group.

You don’t need to be a "bookworm" to join—just an open mind and a willingness to explore new ideas. You’ll have the opportunity to practice new skills, gain fresh perspectives, and connect with others who are on a similar journey of growth and self-discovery. Whether you're looking to enhance emotional well-being, build healthier habits, or explore new ways of thinking, Reading for Growth provides a supportive community to foster lasting change and personal transformation.
